What do you think? I ask because I had a sidekick forever that I just dropped in a glass of water about a month ago, and now I'm back to a regualar phone. I used to think that QWERTY keyboards were it, and that nothing was easier or faster, but now I've discovered predictive text and gotten good at it, I use T9, they have a tutorial to help with speed, here: www.textfast.t9.com

getting used to the 3 alpha modes can be cool, and VERY fast...
But you say nothing of that in the title..
I would suggest a DECENT service which only a few companies supply..SOME even charge you PER MSG... At 0.35 each 100 msg a month, is $35...

Yeah, I pay like $5 for unlimited texting, so it's really the most affordable way to communicate for me, hence the excitement about T9. I've done the alpha modes and I'll take predictive text over 'em any day.
NOW, why isnt it FREEEEEE....
I mean, its REALLY old tech... Why not FREE...???
Takes VERY VERY little bandwidth, and only takes about 1 second... NO REASON for it to cost ANYTHING...

Hell yeah, I'm all for free texting. I'd love to just pay for a phone and get unlimited texting free and charged by the call. I hate small talk. I like T9.
there is very little reason to NOT have free txt msg... Its just a pager... And a small burst msg, shouldnt take ANY time..
ALOT less then Voice tranfer..

yup, as long as they can charge for it they will. even better if it costs them nothing.

Yup, you are right - demand determines supply, not the other way around. Still, at least T9 is free.
BUT,
Over pricing defeats DEMAND...
Rather have a Pager, txt msg, and GSM on a kid, then a Bloody CELL thats 10 times more expencive. I'd pay $10-20 amonth for it with Unlimited txt-ing..NO CELL.
what I cant SEE, is that with a CELLPHONE, adding TXTing is MORe money..THATS stupid.
thats like charging me for a 300bps connection, AFTER I have highspeed access, IF I would like to fax something.
