Help with xp media edition

Brand new computer with pre installed xpme and the screen saver won't work, does anybody know why? I checked all the settings and they "seem" ok, I could be wrong

I wish I could help with this but without more details about the system like what screen it's hooked up to, what brand MCE machine it is, etc it's like trying to surf without waves.

Screen saver is probably setting a resolution your monitor can't handle. Do all SS not work, or just one particular one?

None of them work, I don't know much about the computer, but I can check at work today and post back later. I think I read something about screen resolution somewhere on another board. Can I change the resolution setting so that my monitor can handle it?

Yes, but it is best to hook it up to a regular monitor first. Select a compatible resolution in the Display control panel (check with the TV's documentation), and under advanced, make sure the refresh rate is 60Hz.
