I have a wireless computer network that is connected to a Gateway Wireless Connected DVD player in another room. The DVD player is connected to my entertainment center (TV, Stereo, etc). The TV will display the menu system for navigating the tunes. It comes with an IR remote control. I have my house wired for different speakers throughout the house and in the backyard.

I want to be able to wirelessly control the music menu that appears on the tv screen from anywhere in the house. Optimally I would like the remote to be able to show the menu screen as well. Does anyone know of any possible options. Possibly a Pocket PC? Don't know if there is anything available but I am hopeful. Don't want to have to buy the Sonos just for the remore. Thanks.

Nah, my parents have that one (got it for them). Just a basic progrmmable remote with a nice lieel LCD (that can't really be customized). If you're dropping the money just go with an Origami PC running VNC. That should do it, and since you're only using it for that, you can get the cheapest one.
