Hi there. i think i may have accidentally downloaded a virus or something the other day while trying to find a CD code for a game. I've already run adaware and spybot and got rid of what they found. my system seems to be back to normal, ie running at normal speed but the internet doesnt seem to be working properly at all. It should be really fast because I'm in halls at university. please can you help? here is my hijack this log:

Download The Stand Alone Version of CW Shredder,Spybot, AdAware, (Links at the bottom of my message) If you have them allready make sure they are up to date.

You may want to print this out
Unplug the internet from your computer
Reboot To Safe Mode (tap F8 on Startup)

Delete this file
Delete these Files and or Folders

D:\My Documents\Downloads\Applications\WinFixer2005FreeI nstall.exe
C:\windows\mousepad4.exe

Still In Safe Mode Open up Hijack This and Place a check next to each of these and click Fix Checked.

Still In Safe Mode Delete all Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, Run CW Shredder, AdAware and Spybot, Delete what they find , Empty Recycle Bin.

Plug the internet back in and Reboot to normal mode and post a new log..........Jim

Thanks for your help Nightowl, everything seems to be working fine now. although on startup i got a message saying something about an invalid backweb or something like that. i dont think its a problem but here is my new log: cheers :)

Its looking better. I found a few more things here that are bad.

Unplug the internet from your computer
Reboot To Safe Mode (tap F8 on Startup)

Open up Hijack This and Place a check next to each of these and click Fix Checked.

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [CU1] C:\Program Files\Common Files\VCClient\VCClient.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [CU2] C:\Program Files\Common Files\VCClient\VCMain.exe

Still In Safe Mode Delete all Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, Run CW Shredder, AdAware and Spybot, Delete what they find , Empty Recycle Bin.

Plug the internet back in and Reboot to normal mode and post a new log..........Jim
