Bought this game this weekend and tried playing it online. I like the game a lot, but I cannot stand playing with 10 year olds. They are loud and way unmannered. I had to turn the volume off on my headset so I couldn't hear them. Overall its a fun game!

Have you other expirences with X-box Live been worth it? That SOCOM game looks like one you would enjoy. Is this the one with the big joystick control that you have to buy and it comes with the game?

MechAssault is a joke in the Battletech Universe
damn console gamers.
a 100t timberwolf (mad cat) wtf is that! Mad Cat is a 75t mech.
cloaking ravens?! What!? theres no cloaking in battletech!
there is stealth armor, but that just reduces signature..
damn microshaft! damn them! damn xbox gamers! they're stupid!

Xbox Live is the easiest online system I have seen. The headset plugs right into the controller and the clarity of talking with other people it the best I have ever heard. When playing online, the speed is the same as if you were offline, you cannot tell the difference (since everyone is on broadband). I also like how you can mute your voice if you dont want others hearing you. The headset and voice capabilities are better than any I have used on the computer....and I computer game very heavily as well. I just cannot wait until more games come out.

There is no harm in playing console games. Mech assault is pretty fun, you should try it out Archon! It has a strong arcade feel to it, so you might not like that.

I have only had one other player over and it looks like you can both play online via the one console.

They should be!
and unless they release an Atari 2600 version, I wont be playing it any time soon.
And Im miffed because MechAssault is working to ruin a great series.
Think Star Wars
Star Wars = Good
New Star Wars = Bad
People Think = Star Wars = New Star Wars = Bad

I thought it was working so that people would buy it, buy XBOX Live, and have a good time....man I was way off.

Thats what I thought too....all these companies and their conspiracies...and then there are the people like Archon who are out to prove it lol.
Just try a game, if you don't like it, then don't play it. I don't think there is anythingn wrong with trying something new....I like Mechassault so far and I would recommend it.

Hey I like the new Star Wars! At least those you can buy on DVD. I don' t think it is better or worse than the originals, just its own unique film triology.
What was the name of that mech game that was more tactics based. Oh ya MechCommander. I think M$ made that also, but I'm not sure. ARchon, I betcha don't like any of those games either.

It looks like a fun game. Also looks like a game where a lot of trash talking will be going on :D

M$ made MechCommander, yeah, but atleast they didnt make up stuff for it, it was true to the actual universe.

Well I like Giant Robot Anime but I don't know if that is going to translate over into Battletech. I might be open to reading some good books that were based in the universe. What have you read that was a good novel. I am not really looking to browse through a field manual.
That new William Gibson novel has me intrigued. If my town library wasn't the size of a garage I would attempt to see if they had ANY of his books in. I am thinking half.com. So much stuff I want to read.
