In case you have not noticed, our site URL and name has changed to Digital Trends. The name change was a very difficult name for us, but we think it better reflects what we do, and it should be easier to remember (and spell).
Let us know what you think!

On a quick note, has anyone had problems accessing any particular pages (server not available)? We've been noticing sporadic annomolies and need help hunting it down.
If for some reason you happen to get one, please run a tracerouter against the domain of the page you are trying to access (reviews.designtechnica.com, forums.designtechnica.com, etc) and send it to me as a private message.
Thanks!

So what made you guys decide a name change was in order?

Well way back when we started Designtechnica, the emphasis was on, well design and technology. We covered high-end electronics (which we still do) and that was our focus. We have branched out to cover more CE products and the general lifestyle and wanted a name that reflects that. We are still DT, but our new name is more descriptive and easier to remember.
What do you guys think?

Umm, I THINK there may be a copyright problem... Or did you NOT look the name up...
I was hoping someone would have looked before and was waiting to see what you may do, before saying anything..

Hehe yea. Was surfing to Designtechnica and was redirected to digitaltrends.com so I just thought "hummm, New name?" :P
I'm a kinda new reader of Designtechnica/digitaltrends. I discovered the site a few months back and when I was searching for PodCasts I think. I actually think the new name better reflects what you are covering right now. It feels fresh and new although I think that the old name was excellent the new name is more right in time. I just have to say. Keep up the good work with the site and looking forward to the re-launch of the PodCast ;)

Thanks for the feedback. A name change is always very volatile and the last think we wanted to do was to upset our readers. Glad to see some positive feedback.
And the podcasts will be returning soon!

Yes, I promise I will be back making Podcasts. I have a huuuugely difficult month ahead, which is why they went away for a little while, but once I'm through that they will be back on a regular schedule.
At least now I don't have to hide the name change when I give the site.
Oh, I forgot to ask. Are we changing emails, too. Or is Digital Trends a Designtechnica Corp website?

Yea. As I mentioned before. Like the name change. Nothing bad with the old name, excpet that it was a little bit stiff/rigid, or how you write it in english :)
The new name fits just perfectly.

It has been a while since I last visited. I was wondering what happened to the name and so forth. I do wish you the best with the new format though. :thumb
