HJT Log HotSearchBar removal help

Hi,

Below is a HJT log from a friends computer. I've run Ad Aware and Spybot and Spybot continues to report this one and can't remove it. I've searched the internet on several ways to remove this but nothing has worked yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Your copy of HijackThis needs to be in a folder of it's own. When HJT fixes anything, it makes backups of the original files in the folder it is in. For this reason it cannot be run from a Zip file or from Temporary folders because the backups will be deleted. Having the backups could be VITAL to restoring your system if something went wrong in the FIX process!


1. Please go to you're 'My Documents' folder, right-click and select 'New > Folder' then name the folder 'HJT'.

2. Copy and paste HijackThis.exe to the new folder.


3. Download The Stand Alone Version of CW Shredder,Spybot, AdAware, (Links at the bottom of my message) If you have them allready make sure they are up to date.


You may want to print this out
Unplug the internet from your computer
Reboot To Safe Mode (tap F8 on Startup)


Delete these Files and or Folders

C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe (Add/Remove Programs should remove Viewpoint)

C:\WINDOWS\CheckS02.exe
C:\WINDOWS\ms036390297149.exe

Still In Safe Mode Open up Hijack This and Place a check next to each of these and click Fix Checked.

Still In Safe Mode Delete all Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, Run CW Shredder, AdAware and Spybot, Delete what they find , Empty Recycle Bin.

Plug the internet back in and Reboot to normal mode and post a new log..........Jim

I stil have hotsearchbar showing up in Spybot and it can't remove it. Its listed here in te registry

Also I ran spybot again in safe mode under the admin account and it found nothing, I ran it a 2nd time under safe mode under admin1 the user account and it finds the file listed below but can't remove because its associated in memory. Reboot same message.

Download and Run Ewido Security suite

http://download.ewido.net/ewido-setup.exe


Run Ewido:
Click on scanner
Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
NOTE: During some scans with ewido it is finding cases of false positives.
You will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one.
If ewido detects a file you KNOW to be legitimate, select none as the action.
DO NOT select "Perform action on all infections"
If you are unsure of any entry found select none for now.
When the scan is finished, click the Save report button at the bottom of the screen.
Save the report to your desktop
Close Ewido

Post a new HijackThis log along with the Ewido log you saved.........Jim
