Has anyone had trouble after downloading the new IE?

I downloaded it yesterday, rebooted and had no Internet. :eww

Did a System restore and thankfully I got 6.0 back. Maybe I should try Firefox........Jim

UMM, I would sugest looking at the REQUIRMENTS.
I thought, IE 7 wasnt to work on anything but XP and above.
After saying that, ITS MORE BLOAT WARE.
Only reason I KEEP IE6 is because there are alot of sites that dont LIKE FF, as they were designed around Flash, and Active X, which is BAD, and VERY vulnerable.

I have XP Professional SP2 and it didnt work at all, I completely lost the internet, I clicked the Icon and nothing happened, Just went blank. No white page no nothing.. Glad System restore worked on this.

Is it ok to have IE6 and Firefox?.........Jim :vivi

I use both FF and IE6 for the same reasons as ECA...but I also have an extension for FF that has an IE debug mode (much like Apple's Safari)...its fairly stable and SOMETIMES it does crash FF...so that's why I keep IE6 on here as well.

I don't see much happening with IE7...BLLLOATED! omg:

Agreed looks like bloatware to me too.

the Best way to cut it down....Is to set the Cache, in options, to NOTHING.
This means you reload every page, and it dont SAVE anything.
also set it NOT to save ANY data, on 'How long to hold data'...
But even at that...It save stuff.

Its almost as bad as the email. REMAMBER to delete stuff, in EMAIL, it will hold ALOT but fill up, 1/2 your drive..

I love firefox. I have downloaded a lot of extensions that make my web experience much better than when i use IE...i definitely recommend it...My favorite is the session saver extensions that make it so if your FF shuts down, your work is still saved...Huge in clutch situations...

try NoScript,
and
Unplug..

Noscript kills all the scripts they try to load on you, and you CAN SEE how many a site is TRYING to load onto you.

Unplug is cool, as it links MOST videos on a site, so you can download them..Insted of JUST watching them.

Avoid beta software at all costs. I like FireFox too.

The new 7.0 seems to be ok, Its not beta. But it continuously wants me to make my security higher which i dont want. But the web seems to be a little faster. This site is a little faster too. A Little.........Jim

Sometimes I have to wait up to a minute for the page to load, The last two days with the new internet it took 30 seconds,A few days ago i had to wait almost 2 minutes.

Glad to hear things will be speeding up........Jim
