Laptop screen turning off

Hi,

My Dell laptop screen turns itself off when moved slightly and the only way to get it back on is to power down and turn on again. Also when it turns off it seems to shut some things down, for example if i'm listening to music on windows media player it stops it. Hope someone can help.

Which OS, XP, 2000, Linux??

REALLY sounds like 2 problems.
Take it in to be chacked for a loose connection.
Check all setting for Battery saving, and Screen saver.. These may be set to LOW. Any movement, keyboard of mouse, in 5-10 minutes should keep it going..But if it sits to long, it sounds like its going into hibernate MODE.

Sounds like a loose screen connection. Is it still under warranty?
