Bad_pool_header

Hi,

Right im not sure if this is in the right place but bare with me.
I'm getting the blue screen of death on my laptop saying 'BAD_POOL_HEADER' and I think it might be being caused by my Tiscali sagem 800 fast usb modem as it is usually caused when accessing it. Also I cannot connect to the internet so am having great problems trying to fix it (I am currently on a different computer). I've got XP with sp2 but obviously can't update at the moment. I shall also post this in the hardware forum aswell, not entirely sure where it should be???

So are you able to get into Windows at all? If so maybe try a system restore from a previous date and see if that helps.

It sounds like SP2 is not compatible with a piece of the hardware on your system, here is what I found: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/w2kmsgs/1140.asp

So maybe try rolling it back to SP1 and see if it goes away.
