Hi there

Help me please!!!
I'm getting a rundllerror notice on after booting as follows:
error loading c:\programfiles\FBMsoftware\zerospyware\zss scheduler.dll - the specified module could not be found.
I had Zerospyware on my machine but uninstalled it because it never found anything!!

I have been through this with Nightowl in the Spyware section and my machine is apparently clean of all spyware, viruses.
(I am running XP SP2, with AVG anti-virus (full program), and Spyware Doctor, Ad-Aware and XoftSpy spyware programs, oh and an evaluation version of CounterSpy. [Yes, I'm paranoid but safe!!!!)

I bought PC Tools' Registry Mechanic and this has identified it as a problem along with quite a few others! However, although it says that it has fixed the problems, when I rerun the scan, the same problems come up again. Same thing with a trial version of System Mechanic 6. I have also tried manually deleting with HJT with no success.

I have also tried disabling in msconfig_startup but after re-booting, the file is still there. In fact, I cannot change anything in msconfig.

Any ideas anyone?

John

So Zero Spyware is an anti-spyware software program? Maybe try reinstalling it, then either using the windows uninstall under add/remove programs (I am sure you have done this already, maybe just try again) and if that doesn't work, try using an uninstall program like Tuneup Utilities. Thats what I use.

Yes I've tried those and
1) When I reinstall Zerospyware, the error message goes away (but I don't want it on my machine)
2) I've used Tuneup and I get the same result as with Registry mechanic et al, ie it says it has corrected loads of registry problems but when I re-run thesoftware, the same problems appear.

Something seems to be stopping me (or utilities) making any changes to registry.

I have not tried manually deleting anything from registry cos I'm not that confident about ot. Can anyone talk me through it?

John
