Hi i have found Project 1 running on my system and i cant get rid of it.
Have used spybot, adaware and spy sweeper.

Your copy of HijackThis needs to be in a folder of it's own. When HJT fixes anything, it makes backups of the original files in the folder it is in. For this reason it cannot be run from a Zip file or from Temporary folders because the backups will be deleted. Having the backups could be VITAL to restoring your system if something went wrong in the FIX process!


1. Please go to you're 'My Documents' folder, right-click and select 'New > Folder' then name the folder 'HJT'.

2. Copy and paste HijackThis.exe to the new folder.

3. Download The Stand Alone Version of CW Shredder,Spybot, AdAware, (Links at the bottom of my message) If you have them allready make sure they are up to date.



You may want to print this out
Unplug the internet from your computer
Reboot To Safe Mode (tap F8 on Startup)

Delete these files


C:\dfndrff_16.exe
C:\\kybrdff_15.exe


Still In Safe Mode Open up Hijack This and Place a check next to each of these and click Fix Checked.

On the one below I cant find any Info, good or bad. If you know what it is it should be ok.

Still In Safe Mode Delete all Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, Run CW Shredder, AdAware and Spybot, Delete what they find , Empty Recycle Bin.

Plug the internet back in and Reboot to normal mode and post a new log..........Jim

I did what you said and everything seems ok except that my email program keeps crashing, not sure if its related to any spyware.

Download Qoofix from the link below. Unzip to a convenient location such as C:\Qoofix. Navigate to the folder you unzipped the files to and double click on the file named Qoofix.exe. Finally, select Begin Removal and the removal process will commence. A reboot may be necessary if an infection is found.
