What does anyone think?
I was 3/4 of the way through and now im practically back to square 1. But what about the difference in material? They actually look like they've been kicked up the ass by someone and totally revamped the course. The material is in so much more detail and is a hell of alot more professional and uptodate. Still finding mistakes though. They've also got rid of them horrible training cds which were pathetic!
Now im worried im not going to beable to complete the new course in 7 months (im currently 7 months into it) and will have to pay extra so ive emailed them with a request for a free extension. Ill let u know their answer.
I will say though that the tutors help via the webmail is ok although i would like a phone once every couple of weeks just to see how im getting on.

Just spoke :argue to Skillstrain they have extended my course time to the end of September 07 free of charge. Everyone who takes up the new course will be given this extension but i would certainly email/phone them to make sure. Relieved and happy now ive got to make sure i actually put the time in.

I changed to the 2006 specific material, definately a good thing for me to do! The course work is more up-to-date and a lot more technical and user friendly and i'm yet to find any spelling mistakes unlike the last material. I wasn't even aware i had the option to change to 2006 and not aware i had 1 month to do the 2003 materials - this kinda made me pissed, but this is the only thing i have had an issue with at Skillstrain so far.

I hope it works out for you.

The new CompTIA objectives are still new, so its's hard to be sure how good the ST material is. Their upgrade to the N+ course actually created a worse set than their old course! Loads of stuff on Active Directory that are not part of the N+ objectives, while other areas were missing altogether! If I were you I'd look closely at the A+ objectives produced by CompTIA to make sure everything is covered.
