Hi,
When I split and convert vob files some times the sound is either lost or partial. Why is that and how can i fix it? I am using AVS video converter. Is there another one I should be using?
many thanks.

Hello again,
I am sorry if I am posting in the wrong place, but I would be grateful if someone could suggest either a possible solution or perhaps another place where I could make the same enquiry?
Thanks

This only happens once in a while?
Maybe try some of these and see if they work: http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Best/free-split-vob.html

Thank you Ioman. Yes, only from time to time. Also, it happens more frequently if I try to split and convert bigger piece of the vob file than when I split it into smaller sizes.
Also, sometimes the splitter does not see a whole chunk of the ending of a particular vob file. So, for example, file1may finish at a certain point, but in the edit section of the software that particular segment at the end of the vob file is not there (does not appear). The next vob file (file 2, let's say) can be seen normally when i look for it during editing.
These symptoms occur even when I do not use the internet or any other programs.
IU'll try the ones you sent me and I'll let you know how it went. Did this ever happen to anyone else here?

It never happens to me. Why are you splitting the vobs anyways? Are you trying to keep the video at native rez and burn single layer discs? I just rip with DVD Shrink and it slightly downrezzes the picture, but never causes any audio syncing problems.

Thanks neuroking. I am not sure what you mean because I have limited experience in video edititing. I sometimes split and convert segments of different dvd movies into WMV files to fit them on a disk if I dont want to watch the entire movie when I'm traveling.
