According to the police (http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/15620551.htm), they think he tried to commit suicide by taking 35 pain pills at once.
Pretty sad. I know that almost everyone thinks he's a butthead because of the way he acts, but I feel sorry for him if he tried to kill himself.

YES, After all the upcoming denials these are the facts.
According to the police narrative, the woman said the prescription of 40 pills was filled on Sept. 18 and, until Tuesday, Owens had taken only five pills.
The police report said Owens was asked if he had taken the rest of the prescription. Owens said, "Yes."
According to the report, police also asked if he was trying to harm himself. Owens answered, "Yes."
The report also said that the woman said that Owens was depressed.

Pretty sad. I would suggest he quits acting like a fool and maybe people would enjoy him more.

I guess behind that ****y attitude, Owens is really a sad guy? Why doesn't he just drop the act and be himself. It must wear him down being so coky all the time ;)

I don't think that he did try to commit suicide. Here's why. Yes, he did finish the bottle, but NOT the bottle that the woman thought. There were two bottles, and he took the last 4 or so pain killers from that bottle. So when they asked him, he said "yes" When they asked if he was trying to harm himself...well who knows there, maybe he was, but trying to kill himself? I doubt it. And the woman said he was depressed...I'm sure he is! But a lot of people get depressed, but that doesnt make them suicidal. Lastly, if he had ingested 40+ pills, they would have pumped his stomach etc. But the next morning he was on TV in a press conference. The medics treated him with oxygen, and filled him with fluid. I still think he made a bad choice in taking too many pills, and had vitamins in his system as well.
