Hello,

This is not spam. I am assessing the market for an electronic wall calendar. As you are interested in digital trends, could you please tell if if you would be interested in buying such a product?

This electronic wall calendar would:
- be touchscreen which you can hang for ex. in your kitchen
- be WiFi enabled
- allow you to enter birthdays, appointments etc (synchronisable with Outlook or with a web calendar via WiFi).
- allow you to display digital photos (uploadable from PC via WiFi)
- recurring events such as birthdays would not have to be entered every year
- information such as weather forecasts & traffic would be displayed.

You gender and age group would be helpful in my research.

Thanks a lot,
Mickey1.

I think it sounds like a good idea, but you would need to add some style to it so it looks good.

actually, i had the exact same idea...i think it would be great. I dont always want to run to my computer for calendar events and computers get dumped every so many years now. This should be marketed as "The last calendar you will ever buy." Never have to transfer from one calendar to the next. Never have to actually live at your computer. You can go a lot of ways with it but I think just the casual user (i.e. not scheduling hour to hour) would gain benefit. btw im 26 male from cali.

Micky, it sounds interesting. Do you have a product or anything yet? Even as a technophobic middle-aged mom, I can see its uses.

Great Idea!!!! I've been searching the web looking for just such a product. It is very hard to believe that this calendar does not already exist.

Make it compatible with handheld pc so that it can update appointments automatically.

I was actually seraching online to purchase something like this. I want something that I can glance at quickly when I'm home without logging in and it can be shared by others... Would be great to set up recurring dates, etc. once and done... Touchscreen to quickly see what's happening in for the day/week/month, etc. Fast and easy being the goal...

I have been searching for something like this also, this could be useful in so many ways. What would be absolutly brilliant is if could be linked to a home phone line to dial a couple phone #'s (ie: cell phone) and play a self recorded or digital reminder message. My wife takes meds and sometimes is so wrapped up in things she forgets to take them.

Hey, I was just in a time management class and started to have the same idea near the end of the class.
But you should be able to prioritize things that you put down, and it would be helpful 4 students if we could colour all our school days a specific colour.
I hope such a thing will come out soon!

I've been thinking about this for years but couldn't find the right people for the project, so I'll dump my ideas here for someone to pick up.

(adding on to what Mickey1 says)

Here are some of my ideas :

Several different versions such as :
Basic Edition, Home Edition, College Student Edition, Business Edition, etc...
The home edition would be 'magnetized' so it could stick onto the refrigerator for your day to day activities.
Basic Edition would simply be a calendar without pictures (single screen).
The business Edition would have things such as rotating world clock, and other important information such as stock ticker as well as skyping type video conferencing technology built into it (along with blue tooth).

For each calendar =

There would be a function in which you could select to see the schedule of your family members, thus the calendar would have programmable profiles of the different people in your family.
Example - if you wanted to see your son or daughter's schedule, you could simply click on the touchpad of John and Jane's schedule and see which schedules conflict (ie. Jane has soccer at 5pm but John get's out of band at 5pm).
You could also set alarms when there are conflicts and there would be a notice that pops up or alarms to let you know of conflicts throughout the week.
Each calendar could be updated via Google or Black berry or iPhone or whatever calendar program/hardware, etc you like using.

Calendars need pictures. You can also have double screen pictures in which the bottom half of the calendar is your typical dates, while the top half includes the pictures which you could upload... basically - you could have a different picture update every day for the rest of your life - or if you'd like depending on what R&D says, have the calendar update every single minute or hour with a new picture (this might burn out the screen).

This calendar would be great for Father's Day, Mother's Day, First day of College, for that New Promotion, for Pastors, Teachers, Lawyers, Police stations, Federal workers, etc....

The possibilities are endless....

This Calendar would have to be developed when LCD touch screens come down in price. As for Power - the Business edition i believe should be plugged in all the time with a back up Lithium ion battery to have it run for an hour or so if unplugged....
The home edition, if mounted on the fridge, should be able to run at least a month - hence comes the problem with energy.... literally this thing would have to go into 'sleep mode' all the time to conserve all that energy...

The Home edition can come with a charging base or it could have a wireless charger which has not yet been invented.

Another idea is to use OLED screens but don't think they have touch oled screens yet, if so, they are too pricey.

The Electronic Wall Calendar is definitely going to be a product that many people would love to have hanging in their bedroom, above their desk, in their office, class room, work place, etc... it would be great to be able to see everyone's birthday every year and know that you can go to that same spot every year and know that the calendar is there.

No need to flip, no need to update your calendar every year, no need to move from phone to phone every time your contract is up and try to import all the calendar data perfectly as possible....

PLUS - you have a customized, personalized calendar for every day of the year!
You can even see several months ahead and back and you can even sync online with your friends to see what their schedules are like if they are sharing on the same calendar network!

This is a fabulous idea that will help make the world run smoother!

i know this sounds like an infomercial....

If anyone is an inventor or knows how to do machine code, let me know - i have so many great ideas that can revolutionize the world!

But yes - Mickey1 did post this first - and i think there are some other posts regarding the electronic wall calendar... i've been thinking about this for a while, before I read anyone's post about this (because i wanted one!!!!). I think it was in 2003 or 2004 that I thought of this while driving to work. Dont think there's a patent out there yet - so this a freebie for anyone who wants to go through the hassle.
Please give some Credit to E. Oak!
