This is a copy of the msg I sent to Seagate/Maxtor:

Greetings Segate/Maxtor,

I am joining the thousands of dissatisfied customers of Maxtor One Touch external drives whose drives have died after only one year of use. We also lost all the data on the drives. The Internet is bristling with hundreds of complaints about Maxtor One Touch. You can believe that there are thousands more silent suffers. We vow not to buy Maxtor products. We contact everyone by every means to spread to the world that the Maxtor One touch is junk. We are even contacting the big vendors like Best Buy that we will not buy any product from their stores as long as they continue to market the One Touch.

Maxtor has a nerve taking our money that we paid in good faith, and selling us a worthless piece of junk. SHAME ON YOU Seagate/Maxtor!

In Sincerity I remain,

Jaded Moe

So what are you hoping to succeed in with this post? Notifying others? Is that it?

The data is probably still there, as the ext. drives are only using USB-IDE connections...
could just open the thing up and pop it into your system..
