Is anyone using Dragon ( http://www.nuance.com/naturallyspeaking/ ) for voice recognition software? How’s it work? Is it decent? Is there anything else that’s better?

Thanks anyway. I found this good review: http://arstechnica.com/reviews/apps/speaking.ars and I also found out that the new version (9.0) doesn't need any voice training - it works straight out of the box. Anyway, if anyone's actually used it let me know.

I have used it, I use it all the time. It's a great program. It does take a little while to set up (it will work out of the box, but it will work better if you spend about half an hour training it). Let me know if you have any questions.

Just one: Do you have Dragon Preferred or Dragon Standard? What's the difference?

I have Preferred. It's just a little more souped up. You can use it with bluetooth devices and digital voice recorders. Also it will read texts out loud to you. I got it because I do work on a few computers with Dragon, and Preferred lets you import/export your user files.

I had gotten the Standard version originally and decided to give it to one of my relatives who's a bit older and it allowed him to surf the internet and compose emails a lot easier. Since then, I upgraded myself to the Preferred. Both editions are great, but Dragon's preferred does have a few extra features that may/may not interest you, just depending on what you're needing it for.

Have you played around with the bluetooth capability that Dragon has yet? How's it work?
