View Full Version : What is your worst XMas present?
Or present for whatever holiday you may celebrate at this time.
Mine:
Bless my mom, but one year she got me a used Bob Marley VHS tape. She loves Bob Marley, and thought I would enjoy it. One problem, I dont have a VHS deck to play it back on.
A couple months later she asked if I had watched it. I told her I hadnt since I dont have a VHS deck, so she asked for it back and gave me some cash since she loved it.
Well, the next year guess what I got from my mom? The same VHS tape. ROFL.

I got Christmas mugs from my mom one year as a present. Just cheap little $2 mugs, three of them. I thought that was pretty funny.

I hate getting DVDs that I'm have no interest in watching. I never end up taking them back because i'm too lazy, but i have at least 5 that i haven't taken out of the plastic yet. And then people judge you based on what you have and then you have to explain why you have a copy of Civil Action... yeah....
Why don't we talk about good gift ideas? What would be really good if I didnt have one already would be a GPS unit, i can't imagine driving in my car without a tomtom one anymore. their error reporting feature is amazing with its new user feedback even in DC

This is sooo true. Someone gave my wife Punky Brewster Season one for Chistmas a few years back, now whenever someone looks through our DVDs I always hear crap about it!
Ya, my wife got me He-man season 1 last year for XMas... I hated he-man as a kid. Oh well. :)
I'd love to get a GPS unit for the car. I'd like some new ram so I could run Vista @ home (my current machine blue screens with vista randomly because of the memory and vista dont get along.)

Well, I never got underwear as a gift (thank god), but one year I got a freaking Care Bear. I couldnt believe it. Now that I think about it, I would have preferred the underwear.
And you know what that Carebear is Worth now??
Go look at collector sites.

I have no idea what it would be worth now. My parents returned it to the store after I had a tantrum and wouldnt even look at it. I think that's when I received my first GI-Joe. That same year my brother received a banana seat for his BMX bike, that was the funniest thing I had ever seen. He about lost it. Needless to say, that too was returned.

This year I got the Second City Christmas DVD - its not bad (chicago version of SNL), but I know I'm going to have to explain what it is now...
is that on TV? I've never seen it. Is it better than current day SNL?

This year my brother got a water bottle. What a weird gift.
As in a $3 sports water bottle? LOL

I think its only on tv locally in chicago. The video has skits that like watching early SNL. John Candy, Rick Moranis, and a bunch of other famous comedians were cast members on second city - its good. chicago has some of the best improv comedy in the country.
Water bottle...
I found something thats cool long ago... I got a small package of Nipples that FIT on standard Plastic bottles, like Soda pop.. They fit ALL those water bottle at the store. But they are designed to Close, even on soda pop.
PS, see my Previous post, for a GUESS of what I got for Xmas.

hey dang, if you're still thinking about getting a gps unit for your car, tomtom is having a $100 off sale for christmas thats still good through the 6th. its good for all of their units, not just the ONE which i have and highly recommend. the new tomtoms also just got a new map update which is free for the new models too by teleatlas, gtg imo.
Ummm, if you want one for a remote computer, theres one for $50 Plus software..
Sonic,
Thanks! I'll take a look and see if anything would be in my price range.
