Does anyone know of any really good or decent home learning Web Design Courses in the UK?
Want the truth?
There really isnt any in the world...
considering that basic page setup is easy with many programs. Making an indepth Site, can utilize 4-5 different programs. SQL is getting very popular tho.
I would suggest that you find a company IN the UK that makes Sites, go in and ASK them where they learned their skills. Most learned AFTER schooling, After taking programming classes. the net is to Dynamic, and is changing Every day...What works NOW, may be obsolete in 6 months.

Thanks for your reply :)
Is it necessary to get the qualifications and certificates to start your own web design business? Or are people willing to give you a go just by showing them what you can do? Basically, have I got any chance of getting people to take me seriously if I'm self taught?
Yes, you can be self taught.
But you have 2 challenges.
1. competition and pricing are the first.
2. being able to Show a site, and showing MORE then 1.
It all comes down to what you know, and how well you know it.
If yyou want to make a Sales site, is 1 thing...Makeing geral sites for people is another. You dont need the sales, you dont need the security.
