Is it true that only a Dell power supply can be used with a dell motherboard and vis-a-vis ? Ohterwise you will fry your motherboard !

I'm pretty sure the case us that you can only use a dell psu because dell changes the pins on the mobo to match their proprietary psus. I'm not sure, though. It could be that they rearrange the pins but use teh same connector, in which case, yes it would fry your mobo. You might have to dig around dell's tech docs to find out.

I have actually heard something along these lines. I am sure that if you contact Dell, you can buy a replacement.
