Not that I am opposed to having Vista available for download, it be a smart move actually, but I still think they should mail you a hard copy. Especially if they are selling the download for the same price. What if you download it and then accidently delete it?
They'll have to implement some type of login system so that you can re-download the files if you happen to damage or lose the media you burnt it onto. Hopefully they'll offer a free or nominal fee for them sending your a cd.

If MS offers Vista by download will they provide an ISO file so that you can burn your own DVD?
Having a download would be great especially if you can then pay in US$$$ $2=£1 right now :D
ugh, dont remind about how bad the US dollar is right now. I'm willing to bet that the Europe/UK folks will have the price adjusted accordingly.

I know that on the MSDN site you can download ISO's from there, so my guess is that people would be able to download Vista in ISO format as well if they choose too. How else would they get it onto CD so they could install it themselves?

How big is Vista? I heard it was being shipped on DVD. I assumed that meant that it was at least bigger than one CD.

Vista requires 15GB on your PC so you better have a large hard drive!
I was able to put the image of vista ultimate on one dvd when I downloaded it from MSDN

I've played a little with Vista, because it came preinstalled on a lappy I'm reviewing right now. I'm a little worried about installing it on either of my machines, because I'm afraid it might break crucial software from smaller vendors. Maybe I'll use the HP as a guinea pig...
btw-I really like Vista. A little bubblegum-y, but really nice.

I like Vista too, I want to put it on my PC at home, but worry that it will slow the system down.
I like it too. Try using the 3d app switcher (windows+tab) instead of alt+tab. It's nifty.
