View Full Version : Designtechnica was attacked
If any of you are wondering what happened to Designtechnica today, someone decided to do a SYN Flood on us. I was out of town and could not help problem solve what was going on.
In anycase, it took some time when I got back but figured out, with the help from #linux on efenet, what was going on and how to fix it.
Thanks for your patience and support!

I am using Linux right now because I can not get my wireless internet access working on either my desktop running win2k / 98 or this laptop that WAS running 98.
What a pain in the arse. I want windows back !

It surprises me how cruel people can be. Our Sony W10 article written by the one and only Logan AKA Technogeek was featured on The Register and Slashdot websites. We had more than 1500 people on the site and some jerk decided to synflood our server. Unfortunately Dan was out of town and was not able to fix it until he got back.
People can be so heartless and mean for no apparent reason. Makes me soo mad :(

It is working great now, that is all that matters. You sure that the server crapped because it couldn't handle so many requests? 1500 doesn't sound like a whole lot.
I am going to go and find my / . article. :D

I hope it's not catchy, My laptops been acting odd since that day? Explorer crashes at odd times last few days. Ran Norton but no virus detects. Maybe sptware on my machine. :(
