for my microsoft wireless optical mouse 2.0 but when i run the setup.exe it says i have a conflicting program that will not allow it to function so i assumed it was my logitech program for a wireless mouse that broke but when i try to uninstall that my laptop restarts any one know of this being a problem???

the driver is Microsoft IntelliPoint 5.0

It shouldnt be a problem..
this is win XP??
Laptop?? The system has its OWN driver for the laptop...It cant be removed as the controls are built-in intot he LAPTOP...Make sure you are finding the right one, IF you are useing an external mouse.
what is the make and model of the laptop.

2 things..
Virus scan your system...Goto Trend micro and run the ONLINE, but you have to TURN OFF your virus scanner.
Check your ports...USB?? I have a funny feeling that it wasnt the mouse that failed. find something to plug into the port to see if its working proper.. Printer, scanner, Ipod, something... If they work the port is working. Ports can be damaged VERY easily.

So when you try to uninstall the Logitech software, it reboots your system?

Marc, try reinstalling the Logitech software so its a complete install, then uninstall it again. I think something got corrupted.

as a USB device, all he needs to do, is plug it in...

I would bring up the System, and hardware manager...When the device(logitech) is plugged in and when removed...It should show up as your mouse controller...Then insert the New one.

I wonder..the new mouse is Wireless??
does the laptop have the SAME wireless control, ALREADY??
