Is it an Nvidia card, or ATI? I have heard that Nvidia does not have good Vista support.
Does bootcamp support vista yet? I dont think it does. I just looked at the Installation guide, and they only mention XP. Bootcamp is what installs the drivers for you, so if they dont have vista drivers yet, your experience with vista on a bootcamp wont be very great.

I've heard of pople isntalling Vista on Macbooks, so I assume it can be done. I'm just not familiar with the installation process.
I just installed Vista on my desktop, which uses an Nvidia Nforce based mobo and Nvidia graphics card, and so far so good. I think the new drivers (version 100.something) squashed most of the nasty bugs, and it is more the nforce Forceware drivers that peopel are concerned with.
Have you tried installing Vista jsut like you would on Bootcamp and inserting a Vista DVD instead? Most, if not all, of your hardware should be autodetted
