I have a Vuego/Acer 310P scanner which worked perfectly with win 95.98se, but will not work with xp+sp2!
Can't find correct driver if it exists!
Any help welcome.

What does it say on their website? Also, is it using your parallel port, USB or SCSI?

I've had this scanner for a few years and had it running happily on one of my PC's with win98se.
However, when I changed to a new PC with xp+sp2 some months ago, I tried installing it, with no luck, so I left it sit, until I recently had need of a scanner and tried again with same negative result.
I was initially using Mirascan software from the original cd , but then tried the latest Acer software which I downloaded from their site which was supposed to work with xp but not for me.
I have followed all the installation instructions to the letter, and appear to have it fully installed in that it shows up in device manager! and when I open it up in adobe photoshop, the scanner window opens up on screen, the message comes up "waiting for scanner to warm up", but when I press preview or scan, the buttons gray out as if something is happening, and the scanner makes sounds and lights up as if to scan, but nothing happens for 30 seconds then a message appears "Read image failure; Restart scanner; code {fff;oo64} I unistalled and reinstalled too many times! but can get no joy of it, so any tips will be welcome.
I've also checked on all the scanner program forums, and found numerous queries re the same problem of running a parrallel scanner with xp, and have followed up on drivers which worked for some , but not for me.

ouch, why do most scanners do this? MY mother-in-law was having a similiar problem. Are you use the TWAIN driver in Photoshop for this? and I assume you have the latest drivers?
I would try installing the scanner on another system with XP+SP2 to see if it works. If it doesn't then it would be a scanner incompatibility issue and you will need to get a new scanner. If it does work on another system, then it sounds like maybe you will need to completely uninstall everything on your PC, uninstall the drivers, software etc, then try a clean install of everything to see if that works.
