Since we don't have a thread for the Virtual Console, rather than have a bunch of topics about it thrown about, I figured we should just have one to talk about it.
So... start talking.

You mean like MAME?
I heard that MAME could be coming to the Xbox 360 actually. That would be awesome.

I think that's a Wii online service that emulates old Nintendo games.
You know how hard it is to buy a freakin Wii right now? I tried to pick one up this weekend. I couldnt find a store in the whole Portland Metro area that has any (Fry's, Best Buy, Target, Costco, EB Games, Gamestop, Sears, etc etc etc) I asked a few how quick they sell out. Fred Meyers told me within 5 minutes of opening when they get a new shipment in. WTH?!?

I didn't realize it was a service, I thought it was built into the system. Do you get to download those old games for free, or do they cost money?

Oh, I could be wrong. I don't own a Wii. I just seemed to recall reading about it and thought it was an separate online service. Hopefully someone with firsthand experience will clarify.
Emulation is the bomb. I'm a huge MAME fan.
@ModestMoust: nope, I've called all the major stores (eb games, gamestop, fred meyers, target, costco, etc etc) no one has any and they say they all sell out within minutes of getting them.
