Creative Zen Micro stuck on recovery mode screen

It was working fine when the battery died. I hooked it up to the charger and let it fully charge. Now when I turn it on all that will come up is the recovery mode screen. When I plug it in to my PC to organize it none of the music on the mp3 player is there?

can you select any of the options in the recovery mode? Then go for cleanup. Or you might format the player

Yeah, it'll let me select all those items in the recovery screen, but nothing really happens. I tried choosing format, but it just says formatting..... then it says harddisk problem. What does that mean?

same thing happened to mine!! i used it all day one day at school, went home and plugged it in and then the next day it would not turn on at all! i tried turning it on while plugged up to computer and it would only go to recovery screen. i hit cleanup and it just got stuck on "scan disk" and i had to unplug it to get it off of that! i went to another thread on these forums where they swore that hitting and shaking it would help, and like an idiot i did, and now it will not do anything at all whatsoever. its completely dead with no hope of ever being repaired. it sounds to me like your hard drive failed and you need to format the whole thing and reinstall your software and start all over (which is what i had to do to get mine to work after purchasing it from ebay). but whatever you do DONT hit or shake it or you will not even be able to attempt repairing it!!
