Samsung + Matrix = Ugly

Well, Samsung has been hired on to do the phones for the new Matrix movies. As you recall, Nokia did the last ones (rather good phones, I might add), but now Samsung is givin it a chance, apparently the matrix "design specialist" got to Samsung before they could do anything, well, "nice".

I think they used the Nokia 8110. Its actually a pretty ugly phone if you look at it. The Nokia 8910i is MUCH nicer.

Actually Samsung made the phone based on the wooden prop phones in the Matrix reloaded and not the other way around. So Samsung didn't have much choice when it came to the phone's look.

wow $500!!! (w/o activation of course). the only saving grace, in my mind, about the phone is that maybe the movie makers were trying to acheive a different feel by designing something that looked big and rugged. like a mad max kind of feel, where the future, when not in the matrix, is bleak and tough... ok, i'll stop being gay now. it would be kinda funny to see someone rocking one of those on the street though.

the only thing cool about this phone is that it does the whole matrix zooming through the code when its searching for a network. thast pretty ****ing cool. outside, its fugly, but from what i've read the matrix sounds and animations are pretty fun.

I think it was just a bad picture of the phones. In Reloaded you never get a real close up view of them, but these that are listed above are definately those that they used. See this link.

Watch the video, the guy even says they are a far departure from how phones these day are styled. Durability is not a key selling factor, more like much stuff can we make this small device do.

As to what was used in the FIRST movie, I don't know. ARchon is probably right.
