Noise Comparison Between Xbox 360 and PS3

Does anyone here have both systems so they can compare the noise both put out when playing a game, or better yet a movie?

I really want a Blu-Ray player and will consider the PS3, but it has to be very quiet when playing movies. I just don't want to hear the drive spin up.

I have also heard the PS3 gets pretty hot. Is it safe enough to put into a TV cabinet?

not a sound. I promise you it is as quiet as a whisper won't effect your movies

So here is what I found out (I am now the proud owner of a PS3). Movies are pretty quiet till about 1/3 of the way through, then the internal fan really kicks in. It's not as loud as the Xbox 360, but it's still annoying during the "quiet" scenes of a movie.

Heh. I bought a side fan for it to keep it extremely cool. I just use my surround sound lol.

I think part of it is room setup, too. If the XBox has a wall not far from the right side (if you're looking at it), the sound reflects back at the listener more loudly. Mine is actually lined up with a door, and when the door is closed, the fan sounds noticably louder than with it open (allowing the sound to get lost in the next room).
