I'm having a problem recently where my computer will want to re-start while browsing the web. I get an error box saying Internet explorer needs to restart...it also shuts down my Yahoo Messenger. And in some instances my computer will just automatically restart w/out warning. :censored :brick

I have an HP Pavillion 360N, with windows XP on it....I've run my virus software and caught nothing on it......any ideas?

Also, and this may be a Yahoo thing.....I run searches in Yahoo member directory and no matter what I enter, they come back with 0 hits.....any ideas on this?

Much Appreciated. :cheers

There are many problems that can cause this.
First
Place you hand behind the computer where your FAN is...IS IT HOT or Very warm.
Check your Room temp..If it hits 90F, SHUT DOWN.
Optimize the computer...Turn off, anything that begins at startup, besides windows.
Which Virus program, and are you running Anti bot, programs...AV wont find 90% of the BOTS that run in the background. And what happens is they take up RAM and HD space. If you are running NORTON, Im sorry, ITs CRAP.
Space...(not the final frontier) On the HD and the amount of RAM, are VERY VERY important. What windows cant Find in RAM, it will then use from the HD at 10x what it needs. Excess program, and windows running Out of space, CAN cause this.
HD MUST be 1/3 FREE..
RAM can help ALOT in the workings of windows, It like to have room to move and ROLL AROUND...512 meg is minimum, 1 gig is nice, MORE is better.

I would also suggest you take this to the spyware section..and talk to night owl...about a GOOD clean up and optimization...
