Please help, I have a mobile disk external data storage I bought to put my old notebook hard drive in, so I could transfer my old files, because my notebook broke. I have managed to get all my pictures and documents, but I'm not sure how to pull all my saved emails from outlook onto my new machine. Does anyone know how I can do this....THANKS

WARNING...It may not work.

u are REALLY going to hate this...
There are 2 ways...
Express has an IMPORT, EXPORT, but it dont really work...
As the EXPORT, Has 2 format, and IMPORT has a few format, but NONE match up...So, you cant EXPORT to Db format and then IMPORT back FROM Db format..thats just an example...

BUT, the good news.
The file, yes thats right, ITS ONE BIG FILE. With all the Incoming, trash, outgoing...Just scan the system for a LARGE file... Its a *.wab File...(search *.wab)remember its location(write it down) Pick it up and Copy it.
REMEMBER THE LOCATION, as you will need to place it BACK on the new install..

THIS will not work, if you DONT install the SAME version on Outlook express...well, it dont Always work, unless you do. It should be, the Exact same version and update...
I would do MS method and MINE....But remember, THIs is one BIG file...

I did the search, went to the drive and typed *.wab and just .wab and the search results were zero, no such file was found. Is there a different way to scan this drive other then windows search feature?...Many thanks

again thanks for your help, I did make sure that the button was checked for hidden files and tried every different way, but it seems nothing is there. I mean all my other stuff was, documents, pictures, music, but my email is just gone. The program outlook express is still on the hd, i just don't know. I even tried .pst searching and nothing....

OK,
In your search, there is ADVANCED OPTIONS.
SELECT TYPE, and a windows should come up,
Select Outlook Mail,
Tell me the size... I dont use Outlook, and mine is 0' for the file it finds.

Im sorry, but Outlook is the Hardest POS in MS...they use an Oddball format, and so forth..
But its ALL in 1 BIG file..
When you delete a message, it CUTS the file..
I can only suggest MS, I linked above, at this point in time..
