Burning Files onto DVD-R

Dear Members,

I have a current problem with burning large files, mostly music files, onto a 4.7 DVD-R disc. I have the necessary software applications (e.g. Nero) to burn the disc but the applications do not recognise the blank disc inserted in the DVD drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

IF you insert a Blank disk in the drive...And open it like a C: drive...D: E: what ever...
What does it say...
AND Right click the disk and WHAT does it say?

ARE you sure its a DVD WRITER...I see many CD-R/DVD reader... where the DVD is read only..

Have you worked with Nero before? Top right there are 2 tabs, CD and DVD. You must select DVD, obviously. But I overlooked it at first.

I have a writer like that...AT THE BOTTOM, you select what it needs to be..
But also, at the bottom is an indicator of how MANY disc's it will use. And if says 5 when Im copying, I check to see if its set to CD or DVD..

Personalle I use Nero. I haven't any problems with it.
