I have not had a chance to read through the pages of the existing Skills Train pages at the moment however I do think I have came up with a solution.
I do not work for Skills Train, however I have been trying for a few months now to get them to agree they did lie to me to make me sign up.
------------
The solution??
Phone: 01582 707 800 and ask for Mike Fitzgerald in the Disputes Department.
He knows who I am now as knows about all my complaints...and is looking into it. He promised to send me an email and also new documents about a different course in the post and I have still not received so even he is lying.
However.....I do think that if we can make his life a living hell whilst he is at work then he will have no choice but to either quit his job (and then we do the same to the next person) or to give us what we are demanding.
I emailed Skills Train tons of times over the last couple of months and never get a response, so just as a quick shot I emailed them pretending to be a new customer and i got a response within 30mins...that old line that new customers are better then existing springs to mind...so then i replied to the response I got saying that I had lied like they had to me and that in fact I was an existing Customer...they never responded and this was over a week ago.......What a surprise!
Anyway!!!
All that we need to do is phone and phone and phone until they have had enough and give in...believe me they will give in, there not a massive organisation and cant live without customers.
I have got plenty more ideas up my sleeve but I need everyone to unite if we stand any chance.
Email me: James_Hollingsworth@blueyonder.co.uk with any ideas you might have yourself, and then if enough of you email me then I have got a plan that will do it for definet...
sorry about all the dots between my text, it just makes it easier to read
If you do ring Mike Fitzgerald then mention my name, he knows who I am by name (James Hollingsworth)
Cheers
James
-----------
On the first day we was lied to
On the second day we received our course
On the third day it was to late to cancel and we realised we was lied to
On the fourth day we complained and got nothing back
On the fifth day we gave up
On the sixth day we won the case
On the seventh day we rested

Another quick way out, phone Skills Train and ask for a copy of your contract to be sent out to you....once its received then ring them up and say that why is the contract signed and that you never signed it.
Even if you did sign it in the first place, then how can they prove it was your hand that pushed the pen ink to the paper to sign it....just claim it was forgery and that you never received a copy of the contract when you signed up.
its a long shot, but they cannot prove that you signed it, just like we cannot prove we was lied to verbally

Here's another way... do your research before you pay for classes from a company like this to begin with. As they say..."a fool and his money are soon parted"

yes your right that i messed up by signing up for a company, but then when you hear they have trained over 5 million, and when you tell the course advisor you need time to think about it and they say that the course starts in 2 weeks at a reception at a local hotel where you can meet fellow students in your area as well as your local tutor then you kinda feel that you need to sign up at that point.
I was made to feel an idiot, but I know that I will be getting my money back just like others have.
All I am trying to do is give others a lifeline to try and help them find the way out that they need. I have got tons of ideas on how to help them, and there is nothing wrong with that. So instead of mocking us can you at least try and come up with some positive comments.
Did you pass your course with Skills Train? Or do you also work for them?
Just for the record.... I have actually been able to get in contact with a Course Advisor for Skills Train (not the one that signed me up) that no longer works for Skills Train and he has even admitted the inside secrets

i have been really getting to the back bone of Skills Train today and they are definetly not happy about it, im hoping that others have been calling and emailing them so they can see the affect that lying has.
they are now willing to 'as a goodwill gesture' transfer me onto another course of my choosing for free without any admin fees or even paying the difference which I believe is usually over a grand more
Good Luck everyone else

Hey Shadowwebs,
Good luck on getting your money back, it sounds like Skillstrain has mastered putting on a good show, making their storefront look shiny and new, but the reality is that behind all the glitz and glamour, they are just a bunch of con artists. They work hard at geting your money up front, then once they have it, your on your own. I hope more people come to these forums and make their voices heard so companies like Skillstrain cease to exist...or at least work harder at taking better care of their customers. Good Luck!!

I seen them advertising in the South Wales Echo we could all chip in and place an advert next to theirs advertising this forum. I will Place the advert warning people about them. The Advert cost £150 if we all make a small payment of £5 each using paypal until we reach £150 to place the advert.
We could also give them the run around pretending to be interested in the courses just to waste their time also tell family and friends too the same. keep telephoning them. Send them letters with no stamps on writing that they are a fraud on the envelope which would be read my lots of postworkers. I have also contacted the south wales Echo warning the about skills Train advert. hopefully they will no longer be able to advertise in the South Wales Echo.

Hello
I am another person who believed them. In december last year I received by post one flyer with SkillsTrain and I decided to see what that is. I went on thier site and I put there my details and in few hours I received a phonecall from them telling me that they will send somebody to explain to me what their courses are and help me decide which one is the best for me. The next day I received a phone call from a so called Nadia asking me if she could come to my house that day in the evening. Few hours later she cancelled telling me that her car broke, but she came the next day.
She explained to me what these courses are and she proposed to me to start web design, as I have equivalent to A levels in Computer Science - to get my diplomas recognised in UK as well, she said. I wanted something else, but she said that I should give it a try, as I will earn loads of money after I finish the course. I didn't buy the thing that I will suddently earn loads of money, but the thought that I will have another diploma on my CV, one earned in UK, not in Romania, made me think that I will get a better, more secure job than my old one.
She gave me some papers to sign, telling me not to worry, because if I don;t like the course, if I think it doesn't suit me I can cancel it at any time, or if I can't keep up with my payments I can delay them for a period of time until I get back on my feet.
She gave me a laptop bag and some books and some CDs, I paied her 75 pounds for 'securing my place in Skills Train' and she let me for few minutes with my husband to read all the papers. Over and over again she secured me and my husband that if I think that the course is not for me I can cancel it at any time I want.
OK. I started to study and soon I realised in the first assignment that the materials are really out of date. I thought that maybe it's that way only in the first chapter, as they are trying to take me from scratch. I did the first assignment, I sent it, got the results after 3 weeks. Meanwhile, I studied for the next assignments where I found out that everything is out of date as the first chapter.
Today I called to them to tell them that I want to delay the payments because I changed jobs and I can;t keep up with them. They gave me the number of a financial company where I found out taht I can't delay my payments and I can't cancel my debit direct. I called again at skills train telling them that I want to cancel my agreement with them and they said that I can't, because my cooling off period has passed and I can't do anything about it. I asked her again that if there is anythything I can do to cancel it and she responded it that I can take legal actions, if I want.
I really don't know what to do.
I was told one thing and now I found out another thing. I don;t want my money back (meaning the ones I already paied), I just want to stop with them. It is a very poor quality product that I don;t want to pay for.
Please tell me what I can do.
As I can see there are may other in my situation and maybe if we all get together, we will make them pay back our money and let us continue our lives.
I really need help from you guys with some advice.
