New Sound Drivers [Archive]

You can download newer version sound drivers and synaptic touch pad software from dell. Just go to support, and go to download drivers from one of the newer latitudes or inspirons. Tried it and got them both to work fine.

You got this to work with your VPR Matrix laptop? If so then it mus share similar parts witht he Dell Laptops.

Sound chipset is the same so yes the sound drivers will work.
Synaptic Touchpads I think are all similar so yes the driver for this works as well.

would these drivers function on my vpr?

I think some of the dells use Alps touchpad . Try the dell 8200. I can't find any soundmax drivers though. dell uses the crystal chipset.

seems like IBM laptops use soundmax chipsets with soundmax drivers - I know the A31p does

Remember, try at your own risk. If worse comes to worse, you will have to roll-back your driver.
