Anyone buy the iPod Classic yet?

I am using a Creative Zen Vision now which is OK, but I am thinking about getting the iPod classic.

Question, if you want to watch videos on it, does it have to be in MOV/MPEG 4 format? Does it support AVI or any other through some sort of trick or software?

Re- release of a device?? Hmmm..
The only difference I see(I dont have one) is a larger screen. And a bigger price point.
