do you use centos 5.0?i met a problem here,i set up its refresh rate to 85HZ,and screen resolution ratio is 1024*78,but why it still flashes a little?
what type of monitor do you have? (LCD/CRT?) You should check and see what resolution and refresh rate it supports. You can actually fry your monitor if you have them set higher then what your monitor can handle.
If you can visually see the refresh rate, then I would guess that you have a CRT. In that case, 85 should be just fine, but it could be a combination of the refresh rate and the resolution that your monitor doesnt like.

i don't think it's due to monitor problem,of course it's CRT,for everyone use this type, windows OS will be fine, just for LINUX,i'm not sure whether it's the version problem of video card drive which's intergrated with CENTOS OS?our one network master has compiled the drive software downloading from internet for it but failed at last duing to file losing?
thanks.
