Lately when my Itunes gets a popup saying theres a newer update and do you want to install. I click yes and seconds later says ITunes has been updated, Then I get a message saying ITunes setup has encountered a problem and needs to close. So my Itunes was not updated.
So I decided to go right to the website and update it there. I went thru the long process and it seemed to work and said I needed to reboot before the changes take place. So I rebooted and when it booted up the screen resolution on my computer was at its lowest and The icons were huge. I tried to reset it through Properties but would not let me. So I did a System Restore and that seemed to get my computer back to normal. Then I clicked ITunes and it wouldn't work.
So I uninstalled ITunes and Quick Time thru add/remove Programs then reinstalled my old version of ITunes with the CD I got with the IPod. Rebooted again and computer worked ok but ITunes gives me this message.
The file Ituneslibrary.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of ITunes.
I'm not sure what I should do next. Maybe Uninstall and reinstall the new version on the website. But I'm a little leary of doing that after what happened last time I installed it..........Jim
