Is it better or worse than the old version?

It's certainly a lot slower than previous versions. It don't give me the same amount of results as before, so either there are less on my machine (unlikely) or it is not as thorough as it used to be.
My guessing is that it's the later so I would say - not as good.
I don't rely on it like I used to.

I have problems downloading the updates, seems like it takes forever. Scanning seems ok though.

I put it on my new laptop and noted it runs slower, takes longer, than Ad-Aware SE Personal. I liked Ad-Aware SE Personal but it no longer updates so I think they are trying to make you upgrade to this new version.

Ya Ta Hey Long time no talk! Good to see nightowl still helping people! I downloaded the new version as always on my external hard drive and it won't run without an Internet connection. I might be installing it wrong. I use it and several other cleaners to fix spyware infested computers. I do have some new tools and I'll try to remember them to share with you.

As always they're at the shop and I'm at home! One is combofix. The download is apparently only good for a few days and it will uninstall itself when you try to use it. The blurb says to go get a new one! I found out because I emailed it to a client and they took they're sweet time downloading it and then cried because it didn't install.
The other good one I'll give tomorrow as it's name eludes me for the present. You run it in s-mode under the infected user(s) reboot and voila! It runs magically by itself. How do those programmers do that? Magic, I cry. Magic!
I tried it once on the s-mode admin acct and well it was a no go.
