Lindows is not selling a laptop (http://info.lindows.com/mobilepc/mobilepc.htm) for $799. It's lightweight (less then 3 lbs), 933mhz Via proc, 256 mb of ram, usb 2.0, firewire, nic, and a 12.1" TFT screen and one pcmcia slot.

So who would buy one?

$799 is pretty cheap for a lightweight laptop.

I would consider it if I had $799, but I think I would prefer a different linux flavor. an Apple laptop would be my preferred choice, but for a linux machine this would be cool.

For $800 I could build a kick ass AMD system and get a lot more out of the machine. If I wanted to install Linux i would choose either Redhat or Mandrake.

Yes, lindows sucks..but if lindows runs on it, it means other distro's should run fine on it as well. Plus its very cheap!

Dan, aren't you thinking about getting a laptop? You should think about this one, it's cheap enough!
