G’day first I’d like to say THANKS!!!!!
A about a week ago I purchased a HDD120 off of some one that had given up on fixing the dreaded ‘i’ hdd error and dead battery. I bought it for $40AUD that’s around $35USD figuring that this is actually a good deal seeing as it included the Mp3 player and an extra hdd and battery(eBay one) which I could sell to get my money back if I couldn’t fix it.
Any way he posted it off to me and I got it today, I did all the usually things you’d normal figured would fix a hdd error, Chkdsk, reload firmware, softrest, but got nothing. So then I jumped online and found this forum and with in minutes I had it working, and I even found the Battery upgrade thread on here and soldered the new battery and off it went. So now I’ve got a decent 20gb mp3 player for the cost of $40 awesome!!!!
Incase you were wondering to fix the hdd error I plug in the hdd120 and went into computer management deleted the partition then reformatted it and then loaded the latest firmware.
Now I’ve got question, has anyone ever tried to change the color of the screen? Black and white isn’t that great. I was thinking that if it used l.e.ds you could solder in a different color i.e blue or pink or something.
Any thoughts?
