Hi I have been reading the many forums and the good advice given on this site and thought id join as i have a major problem with my hdd120/05 that im trying to solve and so far dont have any answers and am not far of from laying it to rest.
Basically the player isnt being recognised by my pc it just says its unrecognisable and has malfunctioned, and it isnt recognised by dmm either, it also has a constant display light until the powere runs out and soft resets do nothing nor does turning on or off. I have taken the hard drive out of the player and purchased one of the adaptors to allow it to be plugged straight into my pc and the drive is definately recognised and is usable, the problem however is that there is no programmes software or files on the hdd and i presume there should be some files on there for the hdd120 operating system to tell in what to do and such ( like having a programme on the hard drive of your pc).

So am i right in thinking i need these operating files on the hdd120 hard drive so that when i put the player together it will work and display as it should or at least let dmm communicate with it so i can update the firmware and stuff and if so does anyone have a copy of the programme files found on an hdd120/05 when they bought it so i could put them back on mine. Hope someone can help on this cause its looking bad at the minute, thanks to you all matt

From things Matt has said I believe I have the same problem now, basicaly no system files on the drive.
If anyone was able to help Matt could you help me please.
I've now been given the HDD120 from my kids - they've moved on to ipods, but I think there the HDD120 will do fine for lots of music in the car, far better than cds, if I can get it working.
