That was a little generous in the rating. It's a nice laptop, but an ultra-tiny niche. I've gotten to play with a few, and really, I was surprised how not-wowed I was by the thinness. Thin? Yes. Crippled? Definitely. Version 2 will hopefully be better. The people that I know who have bought one got it because they wanted something for giving speeches, and that's it.
Maybe it's just because I owned a VAIO U-series, but I found the "small" design kinda 'meh'. It is a decent accessory computer, but missing too many conveniences. The finish and balance are nice, though. Given the option, I would opt for a more powerful MacBook and say, a Mac mini.

I am a lifelong PC user, and I didn't quite know what to expect with the Air but came away very impressed. I'd love to own one but I already have a notebook and can't really justify the expenditure.
Sure it's limited but for 95% of notebook tasks it's totally fine IMO.

I have a new Dell M1330 laptop and have used it twice. My wife uses it for browsing the web, and checking email. The Air would probably be just fine for her. The price is obviously overkill for an email/web browsing machine, but you are paying for the design more than anything.
If you check out Dynamism.com (Which I know you do Brandon!!), all of the ultra-portables on there are like two-grand, so I guess the Air is in the range. Just sucks there is are not more ports (common, 1 USB port!).
