What phone/PDA do you have? Some software is specific to the processor rather than the PDA itself. I found that some PocketPC software worked on my PocketPC Phone edition and some didn't because of variations in the CPU.

Becareful too, because once the software is installed, if you installed the wrong software, it could be near impossible to get off without a complete reset/reformat.

Most of the good software you will have to pay for, but there is freeware and shareware available, it will just take some hunting down.
