Been looking for something similar to a mobile computer. Something that could hold my music, videos and have internet capabilities (wifi). I found this thing called the vmod http://www.myvmod.com. Looks like something id want. Has built in wifi and even comes with software that lets you transfer your media files from your home computer to it while its still in your vehicle (threw wifi). Anyone have this or hear of it?
The vmod is a mobile media server, not a computer. You have it confused with a computer.
Sounds like you want one of the ultaportable laptops or one of the newer portable media players like an iPod Touch.

I called a place that sells this vmod thing. it is a computer as well. it runs off Windows XP. you can connect a printer, cd/dvd drive. pretty much anything a standard computer can do.
Um, sure, to share them out. It's a media server. It's not meant to be a client device to play back your media. There is not screen! It's like a print server, or a normal media server:
You put it somewhere, like your car, so that you can store your content on it. You use another device, like a portable media player (iPhone Touch, Zune, whatever) to connect to it to access the content or devices (like a printer).

I have one coming so I will know more when i get it. they dropped the price allot. All i know is that i will be able to connect it to my monitors in my vehicle and I will be able to use it as a computer. They said I can even install microsoft office with no problems at all. It will connect to my home computer by its wifi and pull what media I tell it to and store it on the vmod, that will be installed in my vehicle. When I do my starbucks run every morning I will also be able to access their free wifi threw the vmod as well and read my email and stuff while sitting in my car.
Nice, let us know how it does and take some pics!
