I've uploaded photos to my player - but I can't see them! what could possibly be the problem? I'm at a complete loss.

Sure, but what are they supposed to be?

I've downloaded one of the sample images (which I can see in the player), edited it in photoshop (maintaining size and resolution and so on) and re-uploaded with a new name...

But it still doesn't show up. Any idea what are the important parameters and values?

Did you upload the photos using Windows Media Player 10?
