For those of you haven't read or heard, there are some 2100+ Athlon XP chips that are actually 2700+ with a 2100+ sticker on it that is locked to 2100+ speeds. There are certain date codes to look for. www.amdmb.com has plenty of talk in their processor talk in the their forums. I continued to read and this amazed me. I work for a major electronics retailer and began my quest to find one of these chips. At this link, http://www.gameve.com/store/gameve_listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?idCategory=61 , you can read at the 2100+ T-bred chips that they have 2 of the date codes that are 2700+. I then searched all the chips that we had. I found this code AIUHB 0301, which is posted at www.gameve.com. I was like holy hell. So i returned my 2500+ barton that I had purchased 4 days prior and purchased the 2100+ T-bred. I was at work, so a good friend of mine had told me about this and he came and rebuilt my computer. I have a Asus A7N8X Deluxe nForce 2 board, 9700 pro and 2 sticks of 256MB Corsair XMS PC 3200 Platinum running now. Straight out of the package, the setting were set to 11.5x200. She posted immediately. The 2100+ is stock at 1733 Mhz. If you do the math, the speed out of the package i achieved was 2290 Mhz at 400 mhz bus. The sucker posted and ran at 91-95 degrees. I also bought the new CoolerMaster XDream fan drive rated to a 3000+ Barton chip. That is a whopping 557 Mhz faster than rated. I have not finished playing with the chip yet. I think it can hit 2400 Mhz. I will push it and try it. Right now I am running at stock 2700+ speeds at 2.16 Ghz. That is still a whopping 430 Mhz faster than rated and at a 333 bus instead of 266. Attached you will find a pic of my system specs and the part of the webpage that I am talking about. Good luck trying to find one if you are interested. There are some at newegg.com if I read correctly and some at gameve.com.

that means my 2100+ XP is actually a 2700+ XP. Meaning I have a 333 bus also when I'm supposed to have a 266 bus.

the nForce 2 chipset automatically unlocks most chips. The multipliers and bus speeds can be changed.

you mean to tell me that if I slap down $84.00 and get this 2100 on this page (http://gameve.com/store/gameve_listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?idCategory=61 ) I am getting a 2700?

If thats all there is to it, I will be hitting that Add To Cart button once I see your reply.

So, how does this work? Pop the 2100 in, set the FSB to 166 and cross your fingers?

uhh hmmm, well i got impatient waiting for my koolmax system and set my new stuff in my old case, have the same hardware as you do.. but right after turning it on the cpu is at 170 degrees!!! this is in bios, and i remember during startup seeing that its only running at 1300mhz.
i didnt know what the hell was going on i had a thin layer of thermal grease and a volcano 9 running at full speed, it should have been fine.

Will post again after setting up my liquid cooled system..

Hey we should do a review on this. The last time we did one on the 9500 we got great response.

I asked some ppl @ Hardforum what was going on, and they said it was old news... as opposed to saying something useful.

it's fairly old......but there are some great over clocks with it........didn't see any posts here....thought it would liven the place up a bit.........
