ok, i heard alot of ppl's new video cards usually dont work, when switching from nvidia to ati, that its because they dont properly uninstall drivers. how do you properly uninstall drivers? cuz atm, all id know how to do was to delete the Nvidia folder in my C: drive

Before I change video cards, I go into add/remove programs and remove the drivers. Then I turn off the system, remove my card and put a new one in and install the new drivers from scratch. What does everyone else do?

The proper way is to put your current video card on VGA drivers and reboot. Then uninstall the previous drivers and shut down the machine. Then install the new card and let the hardware manager recognize and install the new drivers from the install disk and let windows reboot itself. Then insert the disk afterwards and install any additional programs the disk may contain, if any.

w/e, ill do it ioman's way, btw, i just bought a 9700 pro today, will arrive tuesday, im so excited!
I HATE WINDOWS.
Rage's works well, but I also go to the system display and MAKE sure they are removed from there.
There are too many ways to REMOVE drivers, and MOST dont work for ALL driver, or systems. Also, the REG also has a set placed someplace on your system.

You are SO much in need of a Dictionary!
Also remember that if you ever remove your ATI drivers, you must absolutely do it with the video card installed. You cannot remove Catalyst without it with out a registry hack. FYI

This is true, and even when you think you did it right, you will find out that there are still some ATI drivers installed on your system and you will never be able to get them off!!
