This is essentially a 5GB hard drive in a box, but it does have a few tricks up its sleeve
The second of the Panasonic goodies that might be heading your way sometime soon is the SV-PT1 media storage unit. Its essentially a 5GB hard drive in a box, but does have a few tricks up its sleeve.
At 250g, it can store approximately 5,000 digital still pictures, the idea being that you snap away to your hearts content on your lovely digicam, then chuck all the pictures onto the storage unit via its SD card slot, thereby obviating the need for a PC when youre on holiday. It has a rechargeable battery that should have enough stamina for about ten transfers of data from a 512MB card, and a video output to connect to a TV set should you decide to show off those pics you took of Japanese schoolgirls.
Price: ¥60,000 (£310)
