The other end of the keyboard

I often wonder what the people I exchange ideas with look like on the other end of the key board. It does not matter at to me, who is what. I feel there is value in expressing yourself without fear of social intervention and a certain amount a anonymity can allow someone the freedom to relate unchallenged or unintimidated. For this reason, I think I have some of my healthier relationships online.

But I imagine for instance that IOman is about 22 and looks sort of like his icon. Rich and lives in a big house overlooking the beach with 2 kids and a labrador retriever. lol!

Any way, I will probably never meet him personally, but I find that we get along well here on the boards. So I consider him an online friend.

Same for Archon. though I imagine he is a Persian with a doting wife and a Maserati painted green. Who knows. I don't want people posting their specs at all, I just wonder how you perscieve others through their posts and correspondances.

I wish I was what you described....I am 27 and live in a modest house with my wife and dog...I am not rich but would like to be!

We should all post some pictures of our offices and computers, that would be cool.

Wow...Looks like I've been missing out on a whole lotta action in this thread. No offense, but I just it would be a thread about keyboards or something. :P Personally I'm just glad that guys like RageSlave(Don't know your real name...)stick around after the initial shock...sometimes we get a little excited when new people show up, guess it says something for your willpower.

I do find it odd to think about who I talk to on a daily basis--I mean we could probably spend weeks discussing what we think ECA looks like, where he lives, or the oddities of our own IronSerif (even though it looks like we got a little dose of that earlier in this thread). One of the things I do like about this place is that it feels a little more laid back and not swarming with immature young folk, sure there may be a few young kids on here, but they don't show it if they speak out. I appreciate that a lot, it's the reason I'm not so active on other forums...it's just often not worth my time. So I guess thanks to all yous..;)

I agree this this sentiment. I came to this site from another more indulgent of it's younger audience, But I appear to be the most immature of all that post here. Nice to be young again.

I actually got the pleasure of meeting IOman in a vid conference and his family. He in turn was treated to a stage show from my 5 year old son. Well I feel more at home here anyway. So much for professional bravado! hehe.
